The coronation of King George V took place at Westminster Abbey on June 22, 1911. Both Tuxen and John Henry Frederick Bacon were asked to record the event (see RCIN 407572). Once again Tuxen was seated towards the front of the Abbey, in a similar position to where he had observed and sketched the coronation of King Edward VII (RCINs 404466.

This Supertunica was made in 1911 for the Coronation of King George V, which took place on 22nd June 1911, by Wilkinson and Son, Robe-makers and Tailors. The Supertunica has subsequently also been worn by King George VI at his Coronation on 12th May 1937 and by Queen Elizabeth II on 2nd June 1953.
